Narrative:
Approaching toronto, I noted we had not heard from ATC. On 127.4 (I think) I radio-checked with center. They (toronto or chicago) said they wre still with us. 5-10 mins later, I checked again to make sure we were talking to toronto. ATC sent us to cleveland and we got on the correct frequency (center). We never received an ACARS until several mins after that when ATC asked us to contact comrdo then we got an ACARS message. By now we were approaching buf. Captain talked to comrdo (toronto) and they were upset because we did not speak to them in their airspace. Well, we tried but never got the handoff and by the time we figured it out on our own, it was time for cle.
