Narrative:
Right after takeoff, there was smoke in the cabin. This was relayed to the apt who landed immediately in ord. Smoke subsided upon landing. Told by maintenance there was an oil leak in the air conditioning packs.

Title: SMOKE IN THE CABIN OF AN MD80 IS RPTED. IT RESULTS IN A DIVERSION.
Narrative: RIGHT AFTER TKOF, THERE WAS SMOKE IN THE CABIN. THIS WAS RELAYED TO THE APT WHO LANDED IMMEDIATELY IN ORD. SMOKE SUBSIDED UPON LNDG. TOLD BY MAINT THERE WAS AN OIL LEAK IN THE AIR CONDITIONING PACKS.
