Narrative:
Instructions were to taxi to runway 4, the departing runway. From FBO, taxiing south on taxiway G at the hou airport, the ground controller asked if I would be ready at the end. I said yes, and proceeded with my runup checks and lost situational awareness. After crossing the approach end of runway 4, the controller asked if I had understood that I was to taxi to runway 4. Although I had reviewed the airport diagram the day before, I did not have it out during taxi this day. The 'end' of taxiway G was at the approach end of runway 35 and with my lapse of situational awareness and not having the airport diagram out, the runway incursion was bound to happen. No other aircraft were involved. After 22 yrs of flying and no incidents or accidents, this situation happened because of an 'attitude' that this couldn't happen to me. Yes it can.

Narrative: INSTRUCTIONS WERE TO TAXI TO RWY 4, THE DEPARTING RWY. FROM FBO, TAXIING S ON TXWY G AT THE HOU ARPT, THE GND CTLR ASKED IF I WOULD BE READY AT THE END. I SAID YES, AND PROCEEDED WITH MY RUNUP CHKS AND LOST SITUATIONAL AWARENESS. AFTER XING THE APCH END OF RWY 4, THE CTLR ASKED IF I HAD UNDERSTOOD THAT I WAS TO TAXI TO RWY 4. ALTHOUGH I HAD REVIEWED THE ARPT DIAGRAM THE DAY BEFORE, I DID NOT HAVE IT OUT DURING TAXI THIS DAY. THE 'END' OF TXWY G WAS AT THE APCH END OF RWY 35 AND WITH MY LAPSE OF SITUATIONAL AWARENESS AND NOT HAVING THE ARPT DIAGRAM OUT, THE RWY INCURSION WAS BOUND TO HAPPEN. NO OTHER ACFT WERE INVOLVED. AFTER 22 YRS OF FLYING AND NO INCIDENTS OR ACCIDENTS, THIS SIT HAPPENED BECAUSE OF AN 'ATTITUDE' THAT THIS COULDN'T HAPPEN TO ME. YES IT CAN.
