Narrative:
Fumes in cabin. Landing and initial taxi at dfw were normal. After crossing runway 35L, flight attendant called to report white acrid smoke in cabin. I questioned flight attendant further to determine source of smoke and requested arff to respond as a precaution and for possible evacuate/evacuation of aircraft. Determined that we actually had acrid haze and no burning smell. Turning off packs reduced intensity of haze and odor. Situation was not life threatening and I elected to proceed to gate quickly to minimize exposure. At gate several passenger requested to be looked at by emt. Arff had followed us to gate where I released them. I checked with medical to determine possible effects on crew. Crew reported feeling ok and we continued sequence.

Title: MD80 CREW RPTED ACRID SMOKE AND FUMES IN THE CABIN AFTER LNDG AT DFW.
Narrative: FUMES IN CABIN. LNDG AND INITIAL TAXI AT DFW WERE NORMAL. AFTER XING RWY 35L, FLT ATTENDANT CALLED TO RPT WHITE ACRID SMOKE IN CABIN. I QUESTIONED FLT ATTENDANT FURTHER TO DETERMINE SOURCE OF SMOKE AND REQUESTED ARFF TO RESPOND AS A PRECAUTION AND FOR POSSIBLE EVAC OF ACFT. DETERMINED THAT WE ACTUALLY HAD ACRID HAZE AND NO BURNING SMELL. TURNING OFF PACKS REDUCED INTENSITY OF HAZE AND ODOR. SIT WAS NOT LIFE THREATENING AND I ELECTED TO PROCEED TO GATE QUICKLY TO MINIMIZE EXPOSURE. AT GATE SEVERAL PAX REQUESTED TO BE LOOKED AT BY EMT. ARFF HAD FOLLOWED US TO GATE WHERE I RELEASED THEM. I CHKED WITH MEDICAL TO DETERMINE POSSIBLE EFFECTS ON CREW. CREW RPTED FEELING OK AND WE CONTINUED SEQUENCE.
