Narrative:
Aircraft was repaired in ZZZ (flap overspd clacker and anti-ice duct sensor) and departed 8 hours late with no revenue passenger (2 mechanics who had worked on the aircraft were deadheading home). During approach, at 205 KTS, overspd clacker sounded when flaps selected to 8 degrees. This was not unexpected, as the aircraft had a history of this event and had been worked on for this problem. Cleared for visual approach. At approximately 4 mi out, I called for gear down and flaps 30 degrees. We then received a caution message, a chime, and determined flaps had failed at 30 degrees. First officer and I discussed briefly and decided that as it was good VFR, the aircraft was very light (consequently our flaps 30 degrees reference speed was quite low), and the runway was 10000 ft long and though technically a revenue flight, we had no passenger. We elected to continue and land without declaring an emergency. Landed normally, but after taxiing in, it occurred to us that the FARS required us to notify ATC (flight control) which we did not do. Hence this report.

Title: A CRJ FLC ON A FERRY FLT CONTINUES THE APCH AND LNDG AFTER THE TRAILING EDGE FLAP SYS FAILS AT 30 DEGS OF FLAPS ON SHORT FINAL AT CVG, KY.
Narrative: ACFT WAS REPAIRED IN ZZZ (FLAP OVERSPD CLACKER AND ANTI-ICE DUCT SENSOR) AND DEPARTED 8 HRS LATE WITH NO REVENUE PAX (2 MECHS WHO HAD WORKED ON THE ACFT WERE DEADHEADING HOME). FO AND I DISCUSSED BRIEFLY AND DECIDED THAT AS IT WAS GOOD VFR, THE ACFT WAS VERY LIGHT (CONSEQUENTLY OUR FLAPS 30 DEGS REF SPD WAS QUITE LOW), AND THE RWY WAS 10000 FT LONG AND THOUGH TECHNICALLY A REVENUE FLT, WE HAD NO PAX.
