Narrative:

Upon arrival in ZZZ, we were told by a mechanic that the APU access door was missing. Upon inspection, the door had been ripped from the hinge, but the aft most cam lock (zeus screw lock) was still engaged. This screw is located on the door itself so at least this one fastener was engaged when the door ripped off. The logbook showed that an inspection by maintenance the night before this flight would have had them check the APU oil level. I did the walkaround and know for certain that the panel was closed. I did not check each individual screw lock. I know the panel was closed because I always inspect the tailskid for safety wire, and approach it from the left side. It would have been impossible for that panel to be open and for me not to have seen it.
