Narrative:

I am a captain with air carrier X and we are currently changing the FMS to a new type. The transition is being done as the aircraft comes through ZZZ for a turn and takes around 30 mins. The boxes are exchanged and data loaded on the new ones. Upon arriving at the aircraft maintenance was on board, doing the exchange. What's been happening is that even though the boxes are being exchanged new manuals have not been placed on the aircraft for the new FMS. It seems to happen time and time again. In the airline's effort to save money and streamline procedures, areas are overlooked with consequences ranging from FAA action against the pilot or the airline to safety being compromised.
