Narrative:

We were in the en route descent into ZZZ on the arrival and were given a crossing restr to cross xyz at 11000 ft and 250 KTS. ATC then turned us direct with same altitude restr, now putting us high on the crossing restr. I used the speed brakes and let the airspeed increase beyond 300 KTS, unintentionally, to 320 KTS. We then got a very noticeable airframe vibration and I immediately retarded the speed brakes and started to slow. Almost immediately the vibration stopped. I notified maintenance in ZZZ and mechanic did an inspection of the elevator and trim tabs. We were then released to continue our flts.

Title: A B737-700 WAS OPERATED IN NON COMPLIANCE BY EXCEEDING THE AIRSPD RESTR OF A CURRENT AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE.

Narrative: WE WERE IN THE ENRTE DSCNT INTO ZZZ ON THE ARR AND WERE GIVEN A XING RESTR TO CROSS XYZ AT 11000 FT AND 250 KTS. ATC THEN TURNED US DIRECT WITH SAME ALT RESTR, NOW PUTTING US HIGH ON THE XING RESTR. I USED THE SPD BRAKES AND LET THE AIRSPD INCREASE BEYOND 300 KTS, UNINTENTIONALLY, TO 320 KTS. WE THEN GOT A VERY NOTICEABLE AIRFRAME VIBRATION AND I IMMEDIATELY RETARDED THE SPD BRAKES AND STARTED TO SLOW. ALMOST IMMEDIATELY THE VIBRATION STOPPED. I NOTIFIED MAINT IN ZZZ AND MECH DID AN INSPECTION OF THE ELEVATOR AND TRIM TABS. WE WERE THEN RELEASED TO CONTINUE OUR FLTS.
