Narrative:
While descending to 5000 ft on radar vector, GPWS sounded alert 'terrain.' climbed to 6200 ft, advised approach control and descended back to 5000 ft.

Title: DC10-10 CREW EXECUTED A GPWS ESCAPE MANEUVER WITH CLB UNTIL THE WARNING STOPPED. ACFT WAS ABOVE THE MINIMUM VECTORING ALT AT THE TIME OF OCCURRENCE IN NCT CLASS E.
