Narrative:
Cleared by clearance delivery for the aaces 1 departure. Missed turn at aaces by 2-3 mi. WX was VFR. I fly las vegas often and thought that the tower or approach control gave us the first turn. That had been the procedure in the past. As noted by a spc message number on our flight plan. Our flight plan had a spc message number note about the las vegas RNAV procedures, unfortunately, I just skimmed that note -- thinking that I had read it before. Actually, the note stated that the procedure was to be flown as depicted as of nov/02. Lesson learned, read all notes, even if you think you have read it before.
