Narrative:

On descent, going through approximately 16000 ft, both my primary flight display and navigation display screens went blank. The first officer's screens also went blank in addition to both ECAM displays. After a few seconds, the screens returned. The autoplt and autothrottles also disconnected. I hand flew and handled ATC while the first officer worked the problems. I requested direct ord and landed uneventfully. The problem was, I believe, a hard fault of the generator #1. However, the bus tie was delayed in providing power to my side. I do not understand why the first officer's screens went blank. I did not declare an emergency after putting the APU on line and pwring all system. I do not believe that we violated any clearance instructions but am not certain.
