Narrative:
Aircraft failed to have the proper amount of down trim due to the following conditions: 1) both rudder rotor trim tabs were installed upside-down. 2) both trim tab hinge pins were installed incorrectly. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: the reporter stated the airplane was a beech 35 and the work was accomplished by the reporter using an old outdated maintenance manual for reference. The reporter said some models of the beech 35 require the same installation procedures as the reporter installed but others do not. The reporter said the FAA investigated and have resolved the situation to the reporter's satisfaction.
