Narrative:
On feb/sat/03, I received a turn over that the spacer panels for the r-hand passenger service units were probably in the wrong locations, causing the oxygen masks to drop too close to the seat backs. The mechanic working the reconfign/installation and myself verified all spacer panels locations per drawing were correct after the mechanics had moved several spacer panels to their correct locations. The passenger service units were all on the safety hooks when we inspected installation of passenger service units on attach rails, gasper line hook-ups, and electrical hook-ups and the oxygen masks reference line drawing. Then passenger service units were pushed and locked into place. I signed inspection off for the reconfign/installation on aco with the functionals and oxygen drop checks still open to be performed. The aco is issued with drawing that is so small it is unreadable without a magnifying glass. A large readable drawing should be made available (which was not) to help eliminate mishaps.

Title: AN INSPECTOR RPTS INSPECTING AND SIGNING FOR THE INCORRECT INSTALLATION OF PAX SVC UNITS ON A B737-300. LOCATION OF OXYGEN MASKS OUT OF REACH OF PAX.
Narrative: ON FEB/SAT/03, I RECEIVED A TURN OVER THAT THE SPACER PANELS FOR THE R-HAND PAX SVC UNITS WERE PROBABLY IN THE WRONG LOCATIONS, CAUSING THE OXYGEN MASKS TO DROP TOO CLOSE TO THE SEAT BACKS. THE MECH WORKING THE RECONFIGN/INSTALLATION AND MYSELF VERIFIED ALL SPACER PANELS LOCATIONS PER DRAWING WERE CORRECT AFTER THE MECHS HAD MOVED SEVERAL SPACER PANELS TO THEIR CORRECT LOCATIONS. THE PAX SVC UNITS WERE ALL ON THE SAFETY HOOKS WHEN WE INSPECTED INSTALLATION OF PAX SVC UNITS ON ATTACH RAILS, GASPER LINE HOOK-UPS, AND ELECTRICAL HOOK-UPS AND THE OXYGEN MASKS REF LINE DRAWING. THEN PAX SVC UNITS WERE PUSHED AND LOCKED INTO PLACE. I SIGNED INSPECTION OFF FOR THE RECONFIGN/INSTALLATION ON ACO WITH THE FUNCTIONALS AND OXYGEN DROP CHKS STILL OPEN TO BE PERFORMED. THE ACO IS ISSUED WITH DRAWING THAT IS SO SMALL IT IS UNREADABLE WITHOUT A MAGNIFYING GLASS. A LARGE READABLE DRAWING SHOULD BE MADE AVAILABLE (WHICH WAS NOT) TO HELP ELIMINATE MISHAPS.
