Narrative:
Training flight at night practicing touch-and-goes. I was the only one in the traffic pattern (with student) and was just cleared for the option. On final approach, approximately 1 NM from the airport, another aircraft descended above my aircraft on the right side, approximately 15-20 ft away at my 2 O'clock position. I immediately banked to the left and advised the tower controller that somebody had just cut me off on final approach. The tower controller responded that the aircraft was not talking to them. No TA was given before the event happened. The other aircraft then banked to the right, realizing what he just did and then started talking to tower controllers. The pilot of the other aircraft advised tower that he was not handed off to the tower, but he was cleared for the visual approach. Both aircraft landed safely without further incident.

Title: NMAC DURING A NIGHT OP BTWN 2 C172'S MAKING AN APCH TO THE SAME RWY, ONE VFR, THE OTHER IFR ON A NON HDOF VISUAL TO ORL, FL.
Narrative: TRAINING FLT AT NIGHT PRACTICING TOUCH-AND-GOES. I WAS THE ONLY ONE IN THE TFC PATTERN (WITH STUDENT) AND WAS JUST CLRED FOR THE OPTION. ON FINAL APCH, APPROX 1 NM FROM THE ARPT, ANOTHER ACFT DSNDED ABOVE MY ACFT ON THE R SIDE, APPROX 15-20 FT AWAY AT MY 2 O'CLOCK POS. I IMMEDIATELY BANKED TO THE L AND ADVISED THE TWR CTLR THAT SOMEBODY HAD JUST CUT ME OFF ON FINAL APCH. THE TWR CTLR RESPONDED THAT THE ACFT WAS NOT TALKING TO THEM. NO TA WAS GIVEN BEFORE THE EVENT HAPPENED. THE OTHER ACFT THEN BANKED TO THE R, REALIZING WHAT HE JUST DID AND THEN STARTED TALKING TO TWR CTLRS. THE PLT OF THE OTHER ACFT ADVISED TWR THAT HE WAS NOT HANDED OFF TO THE TWR, BUT HE WAS CLRED FOR THE VISUAL APCH. BOTH ACFT LANDED SAFELY WITHOUT FURTHER INCIDENT.
