Narrative:
I entered the traffic pattern for runway 14L at lvj. After announcing my intentions, 3 banner tow aircraft entered the pattern behind me. Runway 14 is a grass strip, which had been recently mowed, along with the adjacent taxiway and surrounding land, which made it hard to identify the runway boundaries. In addition, the banner tow recovery team was on the approach end of the runway and next to the approach end with their recovery equipment, pick-up trucks, trailers, poles, etc. There was quite a bit of radio chatter between the 3 banner aircraft and the recovery team. Being distraction by the radio chatter, the equipment on the side of the runway, and the recently mowed grass, I landed on the left side of what I thought was the runway. I saw immediately I was going to hit the ditch of the crosswind runway 4/22. I pulled back abruptly on the elevator and applied full power to initiate a go around, but was unable to avoid the ditch. Upon landing, the nosewheel and mount assembly folded back, and the airplane skidded forward on the cowling. No one was hurt, and minimal damage occurred to the airplane.

Title: A C150 PLT, LNDG AT LVJ, BECAME DISTR BY SPECTATORS, AND LANDED NEXT TO THE GRASS RWY, DAMAGING THE ACFT.
Narrative: I ENTERED THE TFC PATTERN FOR RWY 14L AT LVJ. AFTER ANNOUNCING MY INTENTIONS, 3 BANNER TOW ACFT ENTERED THE PATTERN BEHIND ME. RWY 14 IS A GRASS STRIP, WHICH HAD BEEN RECENTLY MOWED, ALONG WITH THE ADJACENT TXWY AND SURROUNDING LAND, WHICH MADE IT HARD TO IDENT THE RWY BOUNDARIES. IN ADDITION, THE BANNER TOW RECOVERY TEAM WAS ON THE APCH END OF THE RWY AND NEXT TO THE APCH END WITH THEIR RECOVERY EQUIP, PICK-UP TRUCKS, TRAILERS, POLES, ETC. THERE WAS QUITE A BIT OF RADIO CHATTER BTWN THE 3 BANNER ACFT AND THE RECOVERY TEAM. BEING DISTR BY THE RADIO CHATTER, THE EQUIP ON THE SIDE OF THE RWY, AND THE RECENTLY MOWED GRASS, I LANDED ON THE L SIDE OF WHAT I THOUGHT WAS THE RWY. I SAW IMMEDIATELY I WAS GOING TO HIT THE DITCH OF THE XWIND RWY 4/22. I PULLED BACK ABRUPTLY ON THE ELEVATOR AND APPLIED FULL PWR TO INITIATE A GAR, BUT WAS UNABLE TO AVOID THE DITCH. UPON LNDG, THE NOSEWHEEL AND MOUNT ASSEMBLY FOLDED BACK, AND THE AIRPLANE SKIDDED FORWARD ON THE COWLING. NO ONE WAS HURT, AND MINIMAL DAMAGE OCCURRED TO THE AIRPLANE.
