Narrative:
On landing, everything seemed to be going smoothly. After touchdown, veered off to the left (into crosswind) and to the edge of the runway. Aircraft hit a runway light and broke it. Runway is 150 ft wide. Touched down on center and veered off. I believe I had applied rudder without realizing it and may have incorrectly applied opposite aileron. This has happened 2 times (no damage first time), and once with another PIC at same airport. I have no problems with smaller airfields. Unsure what is causing this. I plan to go up with an instructor and see if we can prevent future sits.

Title: LOSS OF ACFT CTL FOR THE THIRD TIME AT THIS ARPT BY A LOW TIME PVT PLT IN A C172, HITTING A RWY LIGHT AT PSM, NH.
Narrative: ON LNDG, EVERYTHING SEEMED TO BE GOING SMOOTHLY. AFTER TOUCHDOWN, VEERED OFF TO THE L (INTO XWIND) AND TO THE EDGE OF THE RWY. ACFT HIT A RWY LIGHT AND BROKE IT. RWY IS 150 FT WIDE. TOUCHED DOWN ON CTR AND VEERED OFF. I BELIEVE I HAD APPLIED RUDDER WITHOUT REALIZING IT AND MAY HAVE INCORRECTLY APPLIED OPPOSITE AILERON. THIS HAS HAPPENED 2 TIMES (NO DAMAGE FIRST TIME), AND ONCE WITH ANOTHER PIC AT SAME ARPT. I HAVE NO PROBS WITH SMALLER AIRFIELDS. UNSURE WHAT IS CAUSING THIS. I PLAN TO GO UP WITH AN INSTRUCTOR AND SEE IF WE CAN PREVENT FUTURE SITS.
