Narrative:
After pushback from ZZZ, #2 tank, right aft fuel boost pump 'popped' circuit breaker. Followed abnormal procedures. Called company dispatcher and together with company maintenance, decided on appropriate MEL number. Flight crew placard was allowed. Normal takeoff and departure. During climb out, dispatch called and stated that we did not have enough fuel in the #2 tank for that particular inoperative pump. Returned to ZZZ without incident to rectify problem.
