Narrative:

90 degrees off course vector was abruptly issued by 'new' controller. I was told that I was 'not allowed' entry into ADIZ, but no reason was given. I was on a filed flight plan and had been in contact with FSS and appropriate ctrs the entire flight (originated at fdw). After approximately 15 mins flying the off-course vector, I was handed off to the next controller. He vectored me on a more reasonable course through class B airspace. I am unaware of any violation incurred. I'm interested in better understanding what to do in future instances where similar circumstances apply.
