Narrative:
While at the FBO ramp we were given taxi instructions to runway 12 (lgb) via txwys B and D to cross runway 7L at taxiway D. This is what I read back. En route to runway 12 we did not turn at 45 degrees left to continue onto taxiway D then cross...but instead crossed runways 7L/25R and 12/30 at the taxiway B intersection. We were then asked by ATC of our intentions. Phone calls with the tower followed immediately prior to departure. Cause: PIC (me) head down running checklist (taxi/pre-departure) and not paying close attention to sic while taxiing. PIC complacency while operating with a very new crew member! Side note: before entering/crossing any runway, active or not, I always visually clear both ends (bases and finals) and have the sic do the same. It was done at lgb prior to crossing runways 7L/25R and 12/30. Solution: 100% situational awareness at all times and flight deck discipline! Supplemental information from acn 577993: cause: sic misinterp of the grouping of signs at the B and D intersection.

Title: RWY TXWY INCURSION BY A FALCON 900 FLT CREW AT LGB, CA.
Narrative: WHILE AT THE FBO RAMP WE WERE GIVEN TAXI INSTRUCTIONS TO RWY 12 (LGB) VIA TXWYS B AND D TO CROSS RWY 7L AT TXWY D. THIS IS WHAT I READ BACK. ENRTE TO RWY 12 WE DID NOT TURN AT 45 DEGS L TO CONTINUE ONTO TXWY D THEN CROSS...BUT INSTEAD CROSSED RWYS 7L/25R AND 12/30 AT THE TXWY B INTXN. WE WERE THEN ASKED BY ATC OF OUR INTENTIONS. PHONE CALLS WITH THE TWR FOLLOWED IMMEDIATELY PRIOR TO DEP. CAUSE: PIC (ME) HEAD DOWN RUNNING CHKLIST (TAXI/PRE-DEP) AND NOT PAYING CLOSE ATTN TO SIC WHILE TAXIING. PIC COMPLACENCY WHILE OPERATING WITH A VERY NEW CREW MEMBER! SIDE NOTE: BEFORE ENTERING/CROSSING ANY RWY, ACTIVE OR NOT, I ALWAYS VISUALLY CLR BOTH ENDS (BASES AND FINALS) AND HAVE THE SIC DO THE SAME. IT WAS DONE AT LGB PRIOR TO XING RWYS 7L/25R AND 12/30. SOLUTION: 100% SITUATIONAL AWARENESS AT ALL TIMES AND FLT DECK DISCIPLINE! SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 577993: CAUSE: SIC MISINTERP OF THE GROUPING OF SIGNS AT THE B AND D INTXN.
