Narrative:
Reporting gsp, we were level at 16000 ft, proceeding direct to hmv. Center called out traffic at our 10-11 O'clock position at 17000 ft. Reported traffic in sight. We were cleared to climb visually with the traffic in sight. As we got closer, traffic appeared to be moving at an angle northeast from us. We were cleared to turn off course and continue separation. In the climbing turn to the right, we could not see the traffic, and continued on expedited climb. Our TCASII alerted us to the traffic, as we seemed to be parallel to each other. We continued our expedited climb with an uneventful flight. In the future, I think I will query ATC more on the traffic and its direction of travel prior to engaging in a visual climb with another aircraft in the vicinity. Also, I would ask for a preferred route to fly, as in a turn to the right or left, or a slow climb or an expedited climb.

Title: CL65 CREW AND AN UNKNOWN ACFT HAD A TCASII RA AFTER THE CREW LOST SIGHT OF THE ACFT THEY WERE MAINTAINING VISUAL CONTACT WITH.
Narrative: RPTING GSP, WE WERE LEVEL AT 16000 FT, PROCEEDING DIRECT TO HMV. CTR CALLED OUT TFC AT OUR 10-11 O'CLOCK POS AT 17000 FT. RPTED TFC IN SIGHT. WE WERE CLRED TO CLB VISUALLY WITH THE TFC IN SIGHT. AS WE GOT CLOSER, TFC APPEARED TO BE MOVING AT AN ANGLE NE FROM US. WE WERE CLRED TO TURN OFF COURSE AND CONTINUE SEPARATION. IN THE CLBING TURN TO THE R, WE COULD NOT SEE THE TFC, AND CONTINUED ON EXPEDITED CLB. OUR TCASII ALERTED US TO THE TFC, AS WE SEEMED TO BE PARALLEL TO EACH OTHER. WE CONTINUED OUR EXPEDITED CLB WITH AN UNEVENTFUL FLT. IN THE FUTURE, I THINK I WILL QUERY ATC MORE ON THE TFC AND ITS DIRECTION OF TRAVEL PRIOR TO ENGAGING IN A VISUAL CLB WITH ANOTHER ACFT IN THE VICINITY. ALSO, I WOULD ASK FOR A PREFERRED RTE TO FLY, AS IN A TURN TO THE R OR L, OR A SLOW CLB OR AN EXPEDITED CLB.
