Narrative:

Operating as scheduled part 121 operator flying between atl to ict. We were being vectored for the ILS to runway 19R. I was PNF and handling the radio xmissions and helping my first officer, who was PF, setting up for approach. Approach controller gave us a final vector to intercept the localizer, and cleared us for the ILS to runway 19R (ict). Final altitude assigned was heard as 2000 ft. I read back 2000 ft and approach controller did not correct me. At this point we were 500 ft above the ground on about a 5 mi final. We had broken out of the clouds at about 2300 ft. We picked up the runway at about 5 mi and continued at 2000 ft until GS intercept. We intercepted the GS and continued uneventfully to a normal landing. At no point did approach controller or tower controller mention altitude.
