Narrative:
I was the PF first officer. After landing runway 28R sfo, I misunderstood the tower controller clearing us across runway 28L at taxiway K during rollout on runway 28R. I read back the erroneous clearance and was not corrected by the tower. Before crossing, we looked at the approach end of runway 28L, saw traffic and deemed it safe to cross. Upon reaching the other side, the ground controller instructed us to contact the tower upon arrival in operations. Captain contacted the tower. I'm not sure what was said, but he gave me a thumbs up and said the incident was forgiven. Supplemental information from acn 578634: relief pilot had switched to ramp control to verify gate and APU. Heard flying first officer read back cleared to cross.

Title: RWY INCURSION WHEN A B747-400 FLT CREW, LNDG RWY 28R, CROSSES RWY 28L AFTER BEING TOLD TO HOLD SHORT AT SFO, CA.
Narrative: I WAS THE PF FO. AFTER LNDG RWY 28R SFO, I MISUNDERSTOOD THE TWR CTLR CLRING US ACROSS RWY 28L AT TXWY K DURING ROLLOUT ON RWY 28R. I READ BACK THE ERRONEOUS CLRNC AND WAS NOT CORRECTED BY THE TWR. BEFORE XING, WE LOOKED AT THE APCH END OF RWY 28L, SAW TFC AND DEEMED IT SAFE TO CROSS. UPON REACHING THE OTHER SIDE, THE GND CTLR INSTRUCTED US TO CONTACT THE TWR UPON ARR IN OPS. CAPT CONTACTED THE TWR. I'M NOT SURE WHAT WAS SAID, BUT HE GAVE ME A THUMBS UP AND SAID THE INCIDENT WAS FORGIVEN. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 578634: RELIEF PLT HAD SWITCHED TO RAMP CTL TO VERIFY GATE AND APU. HEARD FLYING FO READ BACK CLRED TO CROSS.
