Narrative:
After landing on runway 7, I was cleared to taxi to the ramp on tower frequency. I am very familiar with the airport in daylight. At night I am very dependent on the yellow taxi lines to find my way, and they were very faded after our tough winter. The taxiway lights are not much help in finding turns, because until lined up in the center of the taxiway, they just look like a random jumble. Taxiway identifier lights are some help, but I'm never sure just how far from the edge they were. After stopping on the runway, I saw the sign for G2, which would take me directly to my parking area. However, I could not find the yellow taxi line, so I continued to taxiway F2 and taxied southwest on taxiway F to where it intersects taxiway east and taxiway G1. I started to turn left on taxiway G1 toward the ramp, but noticed I was crossing the vehicle drive markings. I was concerned about getting off the pavement, so turned right and ended up on taxiway east going toward runway 7/25. I never saw the hold short lines (also faded), but recognized where I was, stopped short of the actual runway, and asked tower if I was about to enter the runway. They said I was and directed me to 'expedite' across the runway, which I did. I was then able to follow their instruction to continue on taxiway east and turn left on taxiway D, hold short of runway 7. Seeing an aircraft on short final, I stopped on taxiway D well short of the runway. After the other aircraft landed, I proceeded very slowly forward to find the hold short line. I saw it just before inadvertently crossing it and stopped. I was then cleared to cross runway 7 to the ramp, which I did without incident. The yellow taxi center and hold short lines need to be painted more frequently and using a more reflective paint. Also, I should have thought to look to the sides of the txwys to see if there were lighted hold short signs.

Title: C177 PLT APPEARS TO BE CONFUSED AND LOST AFTER A NIGHT LNDG AND RWY INCURSION AT ROC.
Narrative: AFTER LNDG ON RWY 7, I WAS CLRED TO TAXI TO THE RAMP ON TWR FREQ. I AM VERY FAMILIAR WITH THE ARPT IN DAYLIGHT. AT NIGHT I AM VERY DEPENDENT ON THE YELLOW TAXI LINES TO FIND MY WAY, AND THEY WERE VERY FADED AFTER OUR TOUGH WINTER. THE TXWY LIGHTS ARE NOT MUCH HELP IN FINDING TURNS, BECAUSE UNTIL LINED UP IN THE CTR OF THE TXWY, THEY JUST LOOK LIKE A RANDOM JUMBLE. TXWY IDENTIFIER LIGHTS ARE SOME HELP, BUT I'M NEVER SURE JUST HOW FAR FROM THE EDGE THEY WERE. AFTER STOPPING ON THE RWY, I SAW THE SIGN FOR G2, WHICH WOULD TAKE ME DIRECTLY TO MY PARKING AREA. HOWEVER, I COULD NOT FIND THE YELLOW TAXI LINE, SO I CONTINUED TO TXWY F2 AND TAXIED SW ON TXWY F TO WHERE IT INTERSECTS TXWY E AND TXWY G1. I STARTED TO TURN L ON TXWY G1 TOWARD THE RAMP, BUT NOTICED I WAS XING THE VEHICLE DRIVE MARKINGS. I WAS CONCERNED ABOUT GETTING OFF THE PAVEMENT, SO TURNED R AND ENDED UP ON TXWY E GOING TOWARD RWY 7/25. I NEVER SAW THE HOLD SHORT LINES (ALSO FADED), BUT RECOGNIZED WHERE I WAS, STOPPED SHORT OF THE ACTUAL RWY, AND ASKED TWR IF I WAS ABOUT TO ENTER THE RWY. THEY SAID I WAS AND DIRECTED ME TO 'EXPEDITE' ACROSS THE RWY, WHICH I DID. I WAS THEN ABLE TO FOLLOW THEIR INSTRUCTION TO CONTINUE ON TXWY E AND TURN L ON TXWY D, HOLD SHORT OF RWY 7. SEEING AN ACFT ON SHORT FINAL, I STOPPED ON TXWY D WELL SHORT OF THE RWY. AFTER THE OTHER ACFT LANDED, I PROCEEDED VERY SLOWLY FORWARD TO FIND THE HOLD SHORT LINE. I SAW IT JUST BEFORE INADVERTENTLY XING IT AND STOPPED. I WAS THEN CLRED TO CROSS RWY 7 TO THE RAMP, WHICH I DID WITHOUT INCIDENT. THE YELLOW TAXI CTR AND HOLD SHORT LINES NEED TO BE PAINTED MORE FREQUENTLY AND USING A MORE REFLECTIVE PAINT. ALSO, I SHOULD HAVE THOUGHT TO LOOK TO THE SIDES OF THE TXWYS TO SEE IF THERE WERE LIGHTED HOLD SHORT SIGNS.
