Narrative:
APU was replaced on aircraft, which was due at gate by XA40. Replacement was accomplished using parts catalog 49-96-82 which had all rii requirements. The discrepancy was cleaned in the logbook, but no rii was signed in log and no release was accomplished. The aircraft was delivered to gate at XB50.

Title: AN MD80 WAS DISPATCHED IN NON COMPLIANCE WITH NO MAINT RELEASE AND NO LOGBOOK INSPECTOR SIGNATURE FOR A REQUIRED INSPECTION ITEM.
Narrative: APU WAS REPLACED ON ACFT, WHICH WAS DUE AT GATE BY XA40. REPLACEMENT WAS ACCOMPLISHED USING PARTS CATALOG 49-96-82 WHICH HAD ALL RII REQUIREMENTS.
