Narrative:

Confusion over size of tfr. New slc charts came out. While flying near tfr there was confusion over restr area. Boundaries are on chart versus tfr boundaries, which are not. Using old chart, had plotted tfr by hand. After determining that tfr was not on new chart, fly farther from area. Penetration -- not sure? Solution -- all tfr's that are semi-permanent should be on chart.

Title: BE36 PLT EXPERIENCED CONFUSION WITH TFR BOUNDARIES NEAR SLC.

Narrative: CONFUSION OVER SIZE OF TFR. NEW SLC CHARTS CAME OUT. WHILE FLYING NEAR TFR THERE WAS CONFUSION OVER RESTR AREA. BOUNDARIES ARE ON CHART VERSUS TFR BOUNDARIES, WHICH ARE NOT. USING OLD CHART, HAD PLOTTED TFR BY HAND. AFTER DETERMINING THAT TFR WAS NOT ON NEW CHART, FLY FARTHER FROM AREA. PENETRATION -- NOT SURE? SOLUTION -- ALL TFR'S THAT ARE SEMI-PERMANENT SHOULD BE ON CHART.
