Narrative:

Abeam teels on runway 7 mke downwind at 6000 ft, approach cleared us for a heading of 160 degrees for a 90 degree intercept to teels and ILS. I asked for a visual, so I could extend downwind and cleared us to a heading of 160 degrees and then a visual approach. This is the third time mke approach has vectored us in for a high close penetration type approach. I was able to conclude the approach in VMC only because I was slow and had flaps out in anticipation of visual approach plan.
