Narrative:

On takeoff, the first officer and I misinterped the wind readout from the tower. During the takeoff roll, the tower called for the next aircraft to position and hold with winds reported as 100 degrees at 13 KTS. We were departing runway 27L. The first officer and I both heard this wind readout, but I determined to continue the takeoff instead of performing a high speed abort. After consulting the wind component chart, we determined our tailwind was approximately 11-12 KTS. Our maximum tailwind component is 10 KTS. I feel our error occurred from being delayed for takeoff for 2 hours, and then when approaching the runway in line, tower moved over northbound departures and gave us an intersection takeoff to keep sending wbound departures. We were starting engines and completing checklists while being cleared into position. This caused us to miss the wind readout until well after our takeoff roll had begun. Supplemental information from acn 580642: both the captain and myself were given the winds before takeoff. We both heard 140 degrees 13 KTS. On takeoff roll the winds were given again 100 degrees 13 KTS.

Title: A CL65 FLT CREW PERFORMS A DOWNWIND TKOF WITH WINDS IN EXCESS OF THEIR TAILWIND LIMITATIONS AT ATL, GA.

Narrative: ON TKOF, THE FO AND I MISINTERPED THE WIND READOUT FROM THE TWR. DURING THE TKOF ROLL, THE TWR CALLED FOR THE NEXT ACFT TO POS AND HOLD WITH WINDS RPTED AS 100 DEGS AT 13 KTS. WE WERE DEPARTING RWY 27L. THE FO AND I BOTH HEARD THIS WIND READOUT, BUT I DETERMINED TO CONTINUE THE TKOF INSTEAD OF PERFORMING A HIGH SPD ABORT. AFTER CONSULTING THE WIND COMPONENT CHART, WE DETERMINED OUR TAILWIND WAS APPROX 11-12 KTS. OUR MAX TAILWIND COMPONENT IS 10 KTS. I FEEL OUR ERROR OCCURRED FROM BEING DELAYED FOR TKOF FOR 2 HRS, AND THEN WHEN APCHING THE RWY IN LINE, TWR MOVED OVER NBOUND DEPS AND GAVE US AN INTXN TKOF TO KEEP SENDING WBOUND DEPS. WE WERE STARTING ENGS AND COMPLETING CHKLISTS WHILE BEING CLRED INTO POS. THIS CAUSED US TO MISS THE WIND READOUT UNTIL WELL AFTER OUR TKOF ROLL HAD BEGUN. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 580642: BOTH THE CAPT AND MYSELF WERE GIVEN THE WINDS BEFORE TKOF. WE BOTH HEARD 140 DEGS 13 KTS. ON TKOF ROLL THE WINDS WERE GIVEN AGAIN 100 DEGS 13 KTS.
