Narrative:
Landed runway 9L, pbi. Planning right turn on taxiway K. Despite previous experience and prelndg planning, attempted right turn before sign for taxiway K instead of after. Also, should have used taxiway yellow turnoff path from runway. By grace of god, taxied onto pavement, saw grass ahead. At least things got better. There was landing aircraft behind me. I advised tower, was able to do a 180 degree, taxi onto runway, then taxiway K after landing aircraft passed. I kicked myself for 2 days on the mistaken turn. I did spend this morning on the FAA video on taxi and runway safety. It was a great review. Don't know why I let myself ignore the basics, eg, 1) turn past sign, 2) use yellow markings for turnoff (and blue lights when they are there). But, I was fortunate to have a good lesson and impetus to review at no cost.
