Narrative:
Arlington municipal airport (awo) has 2 parallel runways 16/34, 1 asphalt, the other grass (runway 34R). The runway ctrlines are approximately 200 ft apart. I landed on runway 34L, the other pilot took runway 34R. He was about 1000 ft behind me. I departed runway 34L onto A2 and forgot about the pilot rolling out on my right on runway 34R. I looked right when I was crossing the grass strip. I saw the other plane approximately 500 ft away, approaching. I accelerated to quickly clear the exit. I should have been paying closer attention and stopped short of crossing runway 34R until I was certain it was safe. I also think there should be hold short lines on the exit ramp.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: A VERY LOW TIME C152 PLT RPTED THAT HE MAY HAVE GOTTEN TOO CLOSE TO ANOTHER ACFT DURING TAXI AT AWO.
Narrative: ARLINGTON MUNICIPAL ARPT (AWO) HAS 2 PARALLEL RWYS 16/34, 1 ASPHALT, THE OTHER GRASS (RWY 34R). THE RWY CTRLINES ARE APPROX 200 FT APART. I LANDED ON RWY 34L, THE OTHER PLT TOOK RWY 34R. HE WAS ABOUT 1000 FT BEHIND ME. I DEPARTED RWY 34L ONTO A2 AND FORGOT ABOUT THE PLT ROLLING OUT ON MY R ON RWY 34R. I LOOKED R WHEN I WAS XING THE GRASS STRIP. I SAW THE OTHER PLANE APPROX 500 FT AWAY, APCHING. I ACCELERATED TO QUICKLY CLR THE EXIT. I SHOULD HAVE BEEN PAYING CLOSER ATTN AND STOPPED SHORT OF XING RWY 34R UNTIL I WAS CERTAIN IT WAS SAFE. I ALSO THINK THERE SHOULD BE HOLD SHORT LINES ON THE EXIT RAMP.
