Narrative:
Entered atlanta (190 degrees from hartsfield) airspace under VFR flight following. Crossed hartsfield (flying north) at assigned 5500 ft. After crossing hartsfield, was told to go 'direct to pdk' and 'go to tower,' plus descend VFR at my discretion. Called tower at 8 NM and 6.5 NM without a response. Flew to the west of the airport (pdk was landing to the north on runway 2L and runway 2R). At that point, (altitude about 4500 ft and 5.5 NM on 300 degree radial) encountered a navy trainer jet at 12 O'clock position and same altitude. He went up and to his right. My aircraft was forced into an 80 degree left bank, and then back to a 60 degree right bank before regaining control. I established contact with tower, and was assigned runway 2L. The navy jet was assigned runway 2R.

Title: C337 PLT AND A NAVY JET TRAINER HAD AN NMAC IN ATL CLASS E.
Narrative: ENTERED ATLANTA (190 DEGS FROM HARTSFIELD) AIRSPACE UNDER VFR FLT FOLLOWING. CROSSED HARTSFIELD (FLYING N) AT ASSIGNED 5500 FT. AFTER XING HARTSFIELD, WAS TOLD TO GO 'DIRECT TO PDK' AND 'GO TO TWR,' PLUS DSND VFR AT MY DISCRETION. CALLED TWR AT 8 NM AND 6.5 NM WITHOUT A RESPONSE. FLEW TO THE W OF THE ARPT (PDK WAS LNDG TO THE N ON RWY 2L AND RWY 2R). AT THAT POINT, (ALT ABOUT 4500 FT AND 5.5 NM ON 300 DEG RADIAL) ENCOUNTERED A NAVY TRAINER JET AT 12 O'CLOCK POS AND SAME ALT. HE WENT UP AND TO HIS R. MY ACFT WAS FORCED INTO AN 80 DEG L BANK, AND THEN BACK TO A 60 DEG R BANK BEFORE REGAINING CTL. I ESTABLISHED CONTACT WITH TWR, AND WAS ASSIGNED RWY 2L. THE NAVY JET WAS ASSIGNED RWY 2R.
