Narrative:
Arriving mco airport, we were cleared to intercept the localizer runway 18R, cleared visual approach, cross orl VOR at or above 2500 ft. First officer was flying and he briefed this procedure prior to initial descent so he knew what to expect. Approaching the orl VOR, my attention was diverted by a radio change. I looked back up and the first officer had coupled the ILS. We were about 2 mi north of orl at 2200 ft, on the GS, descending. I reminded him of the restr. His actions were slow (using automation) to correct the problem. I told him to punch it off (autoplt) and get the airplane back up. We were able to cross the VOR within 100 ft (estimated) I called approach when on the ground. They told me there was no problem. I spoke to the supervisor. One of those days -- all day long!
