Narrative:
During descent to evv, we received a 'pitot 3 inoperative' caution followed by hot smell. We turned pitot 3 off. Flight attendant called and reported smell and white smoke in the galley. We declared an emergency and used the emergency procedures checklist for cabin smoke/fumes and all checklists for landing. Before landing, flight attendant reported smoke was gone. We landed at evv and deplaned passenger at the gate with crash fire rescue equipment standing by. No injuries reported and crash fire rescue equipment found no damage. Company maintenance found an electrically shorted relay box to the right of the first officer.
