Narrative:
During taxi out, I was first officer, PF, captain asked for the takeoff briefing. After the briefing, there was a distraction and we missed accomplishing the 'before takeoff checklist' and therefore catching that the flaps had not been set. Taking position on the runway the ATC tower issued us a 'cleared for an immediate takeoff' for traffic landing on a crossing runway. On the initial advancing of the thrust levers the takeoff confign aural warning and EICAS message activated. The first officer immediately reduced thrust to idle, and told the tower 'air carrier X we're going to stop it here' which was not acknowledged by ATC. We delayed the takeoff until the flaps reached 5 degrees. The first officer then transmitted 'air carrier X is rolling' while advancing the thrust. The tower acknowledged saying 'no delay.' we continued with a normal takeoff, however, the traffic on the crossing runway was issued a go around by the tower.

Title: A B757 FLT CREW FAILS TO COMPLETE THE BEFORE TKOF CHKLIST, RESULTING IN THE FLAPS NOT BEING SET FOR TKOF, THE TKOF CONFIGN WARNING HORN SOUNDING, AND AN ACFT ON FINAL HAD TO GO AROUND.
Narrative: DURING TAXI OUT, I WAS FO, PF, CAPT ASKED FOR THE TKOF BRIEFING. AFTER THE BRIEFING, THERE WAS A DISTR AND WE MISSED ACCOMPLISHING THE 'BEFORE TKOF CHKLIST' AND THEREFORE CATCHING THAT THE FLAPS HAD NOT BEEN SET. TAKING POS ON THE RWY THE ATC TWR ISSUED US A 'CLRED FOR AN IMMEDIATE TKOF' FOR TFC LNDG ON A XING RWY. ON THE INITIAL ADVANCING OF THE THRUST LEVERS THE TKOF CONFIGN AURAL WARNING AND EICAS MESSAGE ACTIVATED. THE FO IMMEDIATELY REDUCED THRUST TO IDLE, AND TOLD THE TWR 'ACR X WE'RE GOING TO STOP IT HERE' WHICH WAS NOT ACKNOWLEDGED BY ATC. WE DELAYED THE TKOF UNTIL THE FLAPS REACHED 5 DEGS. THE FO THEN XMITTED 'ACR X IS ROLLING' WHILE ADVANCING THE THRUST. THE TWR ACKNOWLEDGED SAYING 'NO DELAY.' WE CONTINUED WITH A NORMAL TKOF, HOWEVER, THE TFC ON THE XING RWY WAS ISSUED A GAR BY THE TWR.
