Narrative:

While cruising at FL340 and over french airspace, we lost radio contact with the french controllers due to what I believe to be a 'missed frequency change.' after approximately 10-15 mins without radio communications, the correct frequency was established. Once communication was reestablished, the french controller informed us that we would be intercepted by french fighters. No reason was given for the intended intercept when asked. No fighters were ever observed, so I am not sure if we were intercepted or not. However, just after takeoff and as a matter of policy, we were monitoring 121.5, but never heard any one call us on that frequency the entire time.

Title: AFTER REGAINING COM WITH FRENCH CTLRS FOLLOWING A SHORT PERIOD WITHOUT RADIO CONTACT A UNITED STATES ACR IS ADVISED THEY WOULD BE INTERCEPTED. NO INTERCEPT WAS OBSERVED BY THE CREW.

Narrative: WHILE CRUISING AT FL340 AND OVER FRENCH AIRSPACE, WE LOST RADIO CONTACT WITH THE FRENCH CTLRS DUE TO WHAT I BELIEVE TO BE A 'MISSED FREQ CHANGE.' AFTER APPROX 10-15 MINS WITHOUT RADIO COMS, THE CORRECT FREQ WAS ESTABLISHED. ONCE COM WAS REESTABLISHED, THE FRENCH CTLR INFORMED US THAT WE WOULD BE INTERCEPTED BY FRENCH FIGHTERS. NO REASON WAS GIVEN FOR THE INTENDED INTERCEPT WHEN ASKED. NO FIGHTERS WERE EVER OBSERVED, SO I AM NOT SURE IF WE WERE INTERCEPTED OR NOT. HOWEVER, JUST AFTER TKOF AND AS A MATTER OF POLICY, WE WERE MONITORING 121.5, BUT NEVER HEARD ANY ONE CALL US ON THAT FREQ THE ENTIRE TIME.
