Narrative:

Clearance to turn 185 degrees after departure was not complied with. The morning started with the #3 flight attendant calling the cockpit, 200 ft AGL, after takeoff. She smelled electrical smoke. We declared an emergency and diverted to jfk. After a change of aircraft and 2 mechanicals, the second resulting in a return to gate. Then 7 hours later, we received our clearance. I don't recall if I had set the heading in the AFDS panel, but it was not set on takeoff. When ATC asked if we received the 185 degree heading, the captain told me to say no.
