Narrative:
While on a pleasure flight to a number of small airports in the dayton and cincinnati vicinity, a series of inadequate preflight inspections caused me to overlook the fact that the transponder was inadvertently set to the wrong squawk code. Should have been on 1200 for the entire time.

Title: A PA-22 PLT FORGETS TO SET THE XPONDER TO 1200.
Narrative: WHILE ON A PLEASURE FLT TO A NUMBER OF SMALL ARPTS IN THE DAYTON AND CINCINNATI VICINITY, A SERIES OF INADEQUATE PREFLT INSPECTIONS CAUSED ME TO OVERLOOK THE FACT THAT THE XPONDER WAS INADVERTENTLY SET TO THE WRONG SQUAWK CODE. SHOULD HAVE BEEN ON 1200 FOR THE ENTIRE TIME.
