Narrative:
Engine stopped on climb after takeoff. When the engine quit at about 1000 ft, I concentrated on helping pick a suitable landing spot and getting the plane down safely. I could have been more helpful in reminding the pilot of checking the pre-takeoff checklist. I was distraction setting the GPS.

Title: A PAX, WHO WAS ALSO A PLT, EXPERIENCED AN ENG FAILURE ON A GLASSAIR.
Narrative: ENG STOPPED ON CLB AFTER TKOF. WHEN THE ENG QUIT AT ABOUT 1000 FT, I CONCENTRATED ON HELPING PICK A SUITABLE LNDG SPOT AND GETTING THE PLANE DOWN SAFELY. I COULD HAVE BEEN MORE HELPFUL IN REMINDING THE PLT OF CHKING THE PRE-TKOF CHKLIST. I WAS DISTR SETTING THE GPS.
