Narrative:

Received an online briefing for a morning VFR flight around XA15 local time, and did not catch the temporary flight restr regarding the president's ranch. I am not saying it wasn't posted. I am saying I missed it. My mistake. Departed the clifton airport around XA15 on runway 14, and was contacted by waco approach on the unicom frequency of 122.8 within 1 min of departure at approximately 1500 ft MSL (1000 ft AGL). Upon contact, I immediately returned to the clifton airport. Spoke with waco ATC via cell phone regarding the situation. Then spoke with the secret service regarding the situation via cell phone. Being aware of the tfr was my responsibility, and I am acutely aware of the sensitivity of the situation. Though I offer no excuse, I will offer an explanation. The president's trips to the ranch have in the past always been extensively covered by the media, thereby providing a good 'heads up' for local pilots. This trip had no media coverage prior to arrival.

DEPARTED THE CLIFTON ARPT AROUND XA15 ON RWY 14, AND WAS CONTACTED BY WACO APCH ON THE UNICOM FREQ OF 122.8 WITHIN 1 MIN OF DEP AT APPROX 1500 FT MSL (1000 FT AGL). UPON CONTACT, I IMMEDIATELY RETURNED TO THE CLIFTON ARPT. SPOKE WITH WACO ATC VIA CELL PHONE REGARDING THE SIT. THEN SPOKE WITH THE SECRET SVC REGARDING THE SIT VIA CELL PHONE. BEING AWARE OF THE TFR WAS MY RESPONSIBILITY, AND I AM ACUTELY AWARE OF THE SENSITIVITY OF THE SIT. THOUGH I OFFER NO EXCUSE, I WILL OFFER AN EXPLANATION. THE PRESIDENT'S TRIPS TO THE RANCH HAVE IN THE PAST ALWAYS BEEN EXTENSIVELY COVERED BY THE MEDIA, THEREBY PROVIDING A GOOD 'HEADS UP' FOR LCL PLTS. THIS TRIP HAD NO MEDIA COVERAGE PRIOR TO ARR.
