Narrative:
We had just landed at fmy on our first leg of a multi-commercial training cross country. We taxied back to the active runway 13. We had made several radio calls (clearing the active at taxiway a, back taxi to runway 13 on taxiway B, crossing runway 5/23 on taxiway B, taking the active runway 13 for touch and goes). After applying full power and reaching about 30 KIAS, we saw a light twin taking off opposite direction with no lights on except a red anti-collision light, which from the distance had been mistaken for an obstacle light. Throttles on our aircraft were pulled to idle and full brakes were applied, and the opposite direction traffic passed overhead by approximately 20 ft. After departure from fmy, we contacted ft myer's approach control and informed them of the near miss.

Title: A PA44 PLT CONDUCTING MULTI-COMMERCIAL TRAINING ON TKOF ROLL USING CTAF PROCS AT FMY ENTERS A TWIN ACFT AIRBORNE DEPARTING OPPOSITE DIRECTION.
Narrative: WE HAD JUST LANDED AT FMY ON OUR FIRST LEG OF A MULTI-COMMERCIAL TRAINING XCOUNTRY. WE TAXIED BACK TO THE ACTIVE RWY 13. WE HAD MADE SEVERAL RADIO CALLS (CLRING THE ACTIVE AT TXWY A, BACK TAXI TO RWY 13 ON TXWY B, XING RWY 5/23 ON TXWY B, TAKING THE ACTIVE RWY 13 FOR TOUCH AND GOES). AFTER APPLYING FULL PWR AND REACHING ABOUT 30 KIAS, WE SAW A LIGHT TWIN TAKING OFF OPPOSITE DIRECTION WITH NO LIGHTS ON EXCEPT A RED ANTI-COLLISION LIGHT, WHICH FROM THE DISTANCE HAD BEEN MISTAKEN FOR AN OBSTACLE LIGHT. THROTTLES ON OUR ACFT WERE PULLED TO IDLE AND FULL BRAKES WERE APPLIED, AND THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION TFC PASSED OVERHEAD BY APPROX 20 FT. AFTER DEP FROM FMY, WE CONTACTED FT MYER'S APCH CTL AND INFORMED THEM OF THE NEAR MISS.
