Narrative:
Our aircraft was being vectored on a left downwind for runway 18L at cvg. We entered an area of moderate, occasionally severe turbulence as we were told to 'turn left heading runway 270, descend from 6000 ft to 4000 ft.' we were unable to maintain heading and altitude precisely as the turn and descent was initiated. At this time, our TCASII sounded a TA alert, followed quickly by an RA. I advanced throttles to maximum power and initiated a climb as directed. Cvg approach simultaneously told us to descend now. Due to the proximity of the TCASII target to our position on the TCASII display, I also initiated a hard roll to the left. Recovery, visual approach, and landing were normal.

Title: DH8 LNDG CVG EXPERIENCED TURB AND CONFLICT.
Narrative: OUR ACFT WAS BEING VECTORED ON A L DOWNWIND FOR RWY 18L AT CVG. WE ENTERED AN AREA OF MODERATE, OCCASIONALLY SEVERE TURB AS WE WERE TOLD TO 'TURN L HDG RWY 270, DSND FROM 6000 FT TO 4000 FT.' WE WERE UNABLE TO MAINTAIN HDG AND ALT PRECISELY AS THE TURN AND DSCNT WAS INITIATED. AT THIS TIME, OUR TCASII SOUNDED A TA ALERT, FOLLOWED QUICKLY BY AN RA. I ADVANCED THROTTLES TO MAX POWER AND INITIATED A CLB AS DIRECTED. CVG APCH SIMULTANEOUSLY TOLD US TO DSND NOW. DUE TO THE PROX OF THE TCASII TARGET TO OUR POS ON THE TCASII DISPLAY, I ALSO INITIATED A HARD ROLL TO THE L. RECOVERY, VISUAL APCH, AND LNDG WERE NORMAL.
