Narrative:
When I came on shift at XA00, I was given aircraft X to perform maintenance upon. #2 center and #4 center tires had been written up for FOD damage, so I went into the tire storage area for new tires. The 777B tire rack is adjacent to the 777A rack. I pulled the 2 tires out of the heavy tire rack and took them outside, and installed them on the aircraft in the dark. I later received an e-mail from a ZZZ1 supervisor about the flight delay and tire change there, because 1 of the tires had actually been a 777A light tire that had been put in the wrong rack.
