Narrative:
On taxi out, I was doing the flight control check. When I rotated the control column to the right, I noticed the spoilers deflected as they should. When I returned the control column to the neutral position, I noticed that spoiler #3 on the right wing would not retract. The up arrow was still green, and the other arrows were not there. After a few seconds, the green up arrow on spoiler #3 turned to amber, and the associated ECAM and fault light illuminated. We tried recycling the fault light, and that did not work. The MEL stated that we could placard it only if we could verify on ECAM that the spoiler was down and locked. ECAM showed that the spoiler was up and amber. We advised ground that we had to return to the gate for maintenance. While taxiing back to the gate, the amber arrow on spoiler #3 turned back to green, and stayed in the up position. The other spoilers were operating normally. Maintenance deferred the associated spoilers on each wing, and we finally continued to our destination.

Title: FLT CREW OF A300 ENCOUNTERED FLT SPOILER STUCK IN EXTENDED POS DURING FLT CTL CHK ON TAXI OUT AT MIA.
Narrative: ON TAXI OUT, I WAS DOING THE FLT CTL CHK. WHEN I ROTATED THE CTL COLUMN TO THE R, I NOTICED THE SPOILERS DEFLECTED AS THEY SHOULD. WHEN I RETURNED THE CTL COLUMN TO THE NEUTRAL POS, I NOTICED THAT SPOILER #3 ON THE R WING WOULD NOT RETRACT. WE ADVISED GND THAT WE HAD TO RETURN TO THE GATE FOR MAINT. WHILE TAXIING BACK TO THE GATE, THE AMBER ARROW ON SPOILER #3 TURNED BACK TO GREEN, AND STAYED IN THE UP POS. THE OTHER SPOILERS WERE OPERATING NORMALLY. MAINT DEFERRED THE ASSOCIATED SPOILERS ON EACH WING, AND WE FINALLY CONTINUED TO OUR DEST.
