Narrative:

Inbound write-up as reception intermittent on left VHF. Lead called maintenance control for unit part number. Lead delivered unit to aircraft. I installed the unit, did communication test with tower and made log entry. Other TCASII items kept us from completing check and making due entries. Aircraft dispatched late after repairs and discrepancy was noted, wrong part (non ETOPS) was installed. VHF was changed at next station.
