Narrative:
During predep safety checks, I noticed a ring on a man's finger that had a long sharp point on it (approximately 2 inches). The purpose of the ring looked like it would be, or could be, used as a weapon. The purser (#1 flight attendant) checked it out, then notified the captain. The captain then spoke with passenger. Passenger was not denied boarding and flight was not delayed. Therefore, no inconvenience was caused. After speaking with passenger, passenger gave ring to captain, to ride in cockpit. If needed, captain took photo of ring.
