Narrative:
During cockpit preparation, I rushed myself and mistakenly tested the 'passenger oxygen mask deployment system' vice the correct and intended 'voice recorder system.' all oxygen masks deployed as advertised. Lesson learned: don't rush, look, comprehend, check. No canisters were actuated. Passenger that had boarded, were taken off and maintenance restabilizing system and signed off logbook entry.

Narrative: DURING COCKPIT PREPARATION, I RUSHED MYSELF AND MISTAKENLY TESTED THE 'PAX OXYGEN MASK DEPLOYMENT SYS' VICE THE CORRECT AND INTENDED 'VOICE RECORDER SYS.' ALL OXYGEN MASKS DEPLOYED AS ADVERTISED. LESSON LEARNED: DON'T RUSH, LOOK, COMPREHEND, CHK. NO CANISTERS WERE ACTUATED.
