Narrative:
Aircraft pushed back from gate. Engines started, parking brake set. Received status message (power xfer unit). During procedure to clear message light, aircraft began to creep forward. As PIC, I released parking brake and used foot pedals and brake accumulator pressure to stop just short of a parked aircraft. When stopped, engines were shut down. Crash fire rescue equipment called just in case. Maintenance arrived and towed aircraft to gate. After logbook write-up completed, aircraft was towed to hangar. Aircraft had just returned from maintenance hangar. Prior to this event. All crew checklists and procedures complied with prior to and after this event. As of this time, no specific cause for brake loss found by maintenance. Redundancy of system -- normal brake system and secondary system -- proved very important in aircraft design in this event.

Title: A B757 EXPERIENCES A HYD FAILURE LEAVING THE FLT CREW WITH ONLY ACCUMULATOR TO STOP THE ACFT.
Narrative: ACFT PUSHED BACK FROM GATE. ENGS STARTED, PARKING BRAKE SET. RECEIVED STATUS MESSAGE (PWR XFER UNIT). DURING PROC TO CLR MESSAGE LIGHT, ACFT BEGAN TO CREEP FORWARD. AS PIC, I RELEASED PARKING BRAKE AND USED FOOT PEDALS AND BRAKE ACCUMULATOR PRESSURE TO STOP JUST SHORT OF A PARKED ACFT. WHEN STOPPED, ENGS WERE SHUT DOWN. CFR CALLED JUST IN CASE. MAINT ARRIVED AND TOWED ACFT TO GATE. AFTER LOGBOOK WRITE-UP COMPLETED, ACFT WAS TOWED TO HANGAR. ACFT HAD JUST RETURNED FROM MAINT HANGAR. PRIOR TO THIS EVENT. ALL CREW CHKLISTS AND PROCS COMPLIED WITH PRIOR TO AND AFTER THIS EVENT. AS OF THIS TIME, NO SPECIFIC CAUSE FOR BRAKE LOSS FOUND BY MAINT. REDUNDANCY OF SYS -- NORMAL BRAKE SYS AND SECONDARY SYS -- PROVED VERY IMPORTANT IN ACFT DESIGN IN THIS EVENT.
