Narrative:
During climb out, I could hear the first officer over the interphone. He and I checked headset jacks and yoke press to talk switches, without results. I then noticed the text caption on the #1 rmu. I then applied repeated pressure to the glare shield press to talk switch and then it released. Communication with ATC was re-established. I refrained from using the switch in question for the rest of the flight. This is a frequent problem with the emb series aircraft.
