Narrative:
I departed from french valley airport and proceeded directly toward hawthorne airport (hhr). When I was approximately 2 mi east of el toro VOR (elb), I contacted socal approach control for flight following. Approach control informed me that I was within a tfr and suggested that I turn north immediately and contact hawthorne flight service for tfr information. I contacted hawthorne flight service and they indicated that there was a tfr around ventura and suggested that I recontact socal approach. I recontacted socal and filed an IFR clearance to hawthorne. I then followed my IFR clearance and subsequently landed at hawthorne an hour later. Socal asked me to call them. They asked me for details for the purpose of investigating my violation of the tfr. There were 3 flight restrs in the southern california area on this day: (fdc 3/7437) (fdc 3/7418) and disneyland. Based on these NOTAMS, I never violated any tfr. I landed before tfr 1 was active; I never entered the airspace associated with tfr 2, and did not fly over disneyland at less than 3000 ft AGL. Therefore, either these NOTAMS are inaccurate or socal is mistaken in the accusation that I violated a tfr.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: GOV TFR INCURSION NEAR EL TORO BY A C177 PLT AT 4500 FT ON A VFR FLT TO HHR, CA.
Narrative: I DEPARTED FROM FRENCH VALLEY ARPT AND PROCEEDED DIRECTLY TOWARD HAWTHORNE ARPT (HHR). WHEN I WAS APPROX 2 MI E OF EL TORO VOR (ELB), I CONTACTED SOCAL APCH CTL FOR FLT FOLLOWING. APCH CTL INFORMED ME THAT I WAS WITHIN A TFR AND SUGGESTED THAT I TURN N IMMEDIATELY AND CONTACT HAWTHORNE FLT SVC FOR TFR INFO. I CONTACTED HAWTHORNE FLT SVC AND THEY INDICATED THAT THERE WAS A TFR AROUND VENTURA AND SUGGESTED THAT I RECONTACT SOCAL APCH. I RECONTACTED SOCAL AND FILED AN IFR CLRNC TO HAWTHORNE. I THEN FOLLOWED MY IFR CLRNC AND SUBSEQUENTLY LANDED AT HAWTHORNE AN HR LATER. SOCAL ASKED ME TO CALL THEM. THEY ASKED ME FOR DETAILS FOR THE PURPOSE OF INVESTIGATING MY VIOLATION OF THE TFR. THERE WERE 3 FLT RESTRS IN THE SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA AREA ON THIS DAY: (FDC 3/7437) (FDC 3/7418) AND DISNEYLAND.
