Narrative:
During climb out and flap retraction, the amber leading edge device light stayed amber when flaps were selected to 2 degrees. The so annunciator panel indicated the #6 leading edge flap was extended. Complied with company procedures, dumped fuel, and returned to mem.

Title: B727 CREW RETURNED TO THEIR DEP ARPT AFTER A LEADING EDGE SLAT DID NOT SHOW RETRACTED.
Narrative: DURING CLBOUT AND FLAP RETRACTION, THE AMBER LEADING EDGE DEVICE LIGHT STAYED AMBER WHEN FLAPS WERE SELECTED TO 2 DEGS. THE SO ANNUNCIATOR PANEL INDICATED THE #6 LEADING EDGE FLAP WAS EXTENDED. COMPLIED WITH COMPANY PROCS, DUMPED FUEL, AND RETURNED TO MEM.
