Narrative:
Descending on bouno 2 arrival into hpn, cleared to cross dpk at 250 KTS, 15000 ft. We were level at 17000 ft when clearance was given and read back. Immediately after clearance, received EICAS message for amber caution 'bleed air hot (right)' and cabin attendant advised of 'electrical smell' in baggage area. Secured failure via checklist and controller asked us about our altitude (stall level at 17000 ft). We were just over dpk, started down and declared emergency due to smell in cabin. ATC turned us towards hpn and we landed without incident. Checked aircraft and MEL'ed bleed air system for flight home. We did not meet our crossing restr because PF became involved in emergency and did not fly the aircraft.

Title: GLF 5 FLT CREW EXPERIENCED ELECTRICAL SMELL, MISSED ATC XING ALT AND DECLARED AN EMER.
Narrative: DSNDING ON BOUNO 2 ARR INTO HPN, CLRED TO CROSS DPK AT 250 KTS, 15000 FT. WE WERE LEVEL AT 17000 FT WHEN CLRNC WAS GIVEN AND READ BACK. IMMEDIATELY AFTER CLRNC, RECEIVED EICAS MESSAGE FOR AMBER CAUTION 'BLEED AIR HOT (R)' AND CABIN ATTENDANT ADVISED OF 'ELECTRICAL SMELL' IN BAGGAGE AREA. SECURED FAILURE VIA CHKLIST AND CTLR ASKED US ABOUT OUR ALT (STALL LEVEL AT 17000 FT). WE WERE JUST OVER DPK, STARTED DOWN AND DECLARED EMER DUE TO SMELL IN CABIN. ATC TURNED US TOWARDS HPN AND WE LANDED WITHOUT INCIDENT. CHKED ACFT AND MEL'ED BLEED AIR SYS FOR FLT HOME. WE DID NOT MEET OUR XING RESTR BECAUSE PF BECAME INVOLVED IN EMER AND DID NOT FLY THE ACFT.
